Signed-out visibility decides whether Analyze returns rows

This page answers one gate before anything else: would a stranger with no Facebook account see that video in a browser? Vidzilla never holds your login and never asks for it. It reads the post the same way a signed-out visitor does. When the post is public, the video encodings behind it are visible and the results list fills with rows that include resolution and size.

A friends-only post, a private group upload, or a page that demands membership shows Vidzilla the same wall a signed-out visitor sees. Analyze returns an empty list. That empty list is the correct report, not a broken tool. No toggle on this page bypasses a restriction the poster chose, and handing over a password is not a path we offer.

Grab the address of one post, not a profile or feed

The paste box needs the address of a single post or a single video page. A profile URL, a Page home URL, or the scrolling News Feed covers many items at once, so no single media file sits behind that string and nothing useful comes back.

Desktop browser steps

Click the timestamp on the post, or open the post so it stands alone with comments beside or under it. The address bar then holds that one post. Copy the full string. If the player is in theatre or full-screen mode, leave that view first so the address settles on the post itself.

Phone app steps

Open the three-dot menu or the share sheet on the post and choose Copy link. Switch to your browser, open this tool, and paste into the field. Nothing installs on the phone; the finished file lands in Downloads or Files storage once you pick a row.

Timeline clips, Reels, and finished recordings share the same paste path

A Reel and a normal timeline video both work when you open the item so it has its own address and paste that address here. The path shape differs from a classic wall post; the tool still expects one item with readable public media.

A live broadcast that is still on air is the exception. While the stream is being produced there is no finished file to hand you. Wait until the recording is posted, open that recording, copy its address, and analyze the recording instead of the live player URL.

Read size and height before you commit a free slot

Analyze lists the encodings that post is actually serving. Phone-shot vertical posts often top out lower than camera uploads, so the tallest row on one post is not a promise for the next post.

Choose the largest row when the clip will play on a monitor or television. Choose a middle row when it will stay on a phone screen, where the extra pixels rarely show. Press Download file on the chosen row and leave the tab open until the browser finishes writing the file.

Permission to keep is separate from a public setting

Your own uploads are yours to archive. A clip someone explicitly allowed you to keep is fine. A public setting on someone else’s post is not the same as a licence to republish, remix, or sell the file.

Vidzilla is an independent site with no partnership with Facebook or Meta and no authority to grant rights. Stay inside the terms you accepted on that platform and inside copyright law where you live.

Free daily count and the 150 MB ceiling on Facebook posts

Free use allows three completed downloads per day and blocks any single file over 150 MB. Long public uploads can exceed that ceiling on the top row. Pick a smaller height on free, or use Pro when you need the largest published encode.

Analyze does not spend a free slot. The counter moves only after a download finishes. Empty results on restricted posts also leave the counter unchanged because no file transferred.

Keep the browser tab in the foreground until the transfer ends. Progress lives in the browser download UI. After the file lands, playback does not need this site again.

If Analyze returns rows but Download fails mid-transfer, delete any partial file in Downloads, pick the same row again, and leave the machine awake until the browser shows a finished write. A partial Facebook clip is not playable and does not count as a completed keep.
