Get the Reel URL right before you Analyze

Copy the Reel link correctly

Open the Reel you want, use Share → Copy link (or copy from the browser address bar on the Reel page), and paste that single URL into Vidzilla. The link must identify one Reel, not a list of many.

Profile grids, explore feeds, search results, and audio collection pages point at many Reels. Pasting those list addresses returns empty or useless inventories because there is no single file behind the page.

Avoid pasting caption text, emoji, or “watch this” prose around the URL. Extra characters break Analyze silently.

This slug’s job is the correct Reel link habit. Soundtrack credit research belongs on the Reels downloader angle page; audio-only extraction belongs on the Reels audio page.

If the share sheet offers “Copy link” and also “Share to…,” always prefer Copy link. Sharing into another app and then copying from that app’s preview often strips the Reel path.

Share sheet versus copying from the address bar

On phones, the share sheet’s Copy link is the reliable path while the Reel player is open. Copying a truncated preview card from another app often yields a redirect that still needs one open-in-browser step.

On desktop, the address bar on the Reel watch page is enough when it shows a /reel/ path. If you are still on a profile grid URL, you have not selected a Reel yet.

Short links from messengers should be opened once so the final Instagram Reel URL appears before you paste into Vidzilla.

When Instagram shows a login interstitial over the Reel, finish that wall in the browser first. A half-loaded interstitial URL is not a stable Reel address for Analyze.

International share links that bounce through regional hosts still resolve to one Reel after you open them. Paste the final resolved URL, not the intermediate bounce.

• Open the single Reel until it plays.
• Copy the Reel link from share or the address bar.
• Paste into Vidzilla with no surrounding caption text.
• Analyze, pick a row under the free ceiling, Download file.

Profile grids and explore feeds are not Reels

A grid thumbnail is a door, not a file. You must open the Reel and copy after the player is active.

Explore and For You surfaces reshuffle. Bookmarking a grid position is not a durable URL for Analyze.

If Analyze returns empty after you are sure the Reel is public, re-check that the paste still contains /reel/ (or the current Reel path Instagram shows) rather than a profile home.

Public Reels that play signed out

Private accounts and restricted Reels that refuse anonymous playback return empty lists. Confirm the Reel plays in a signed-out browser when you can.

Removed Reels fail even if you saved the link yesterday. The URL is not a permanent archive key.

Age-gated or login-walled items behave like other blocked public media: no anonymous inventory, no download row.

Choosing an encoding under the free size ceiling

Analyze lists published encodings with size labels. Free downloads stop at the published megabyte ceiling and daily count. Pick a row that fits before you spend a slot.

Resolution badges are not size. Two 720p rows can differ widely in megabytes because bitrate and runtime differ.

Leave the tab open until the browser marks the file complete. Closing early creates truncated MP4s.

Stickers burned into the published file

You receive the media Instagram publishes. On-screen stickers, captions, and effects that are burned into the encode remain. Soft UI chrome from the app is not automatically part of the file.

Silent Reels stay silent. This page does not invent a soundtrack.

Rename with creator handle and topic. Default CDN names collide and look like junk to cleanup tools.

Where the finished MP4 lands on phone and desktop

On iOS, check Files → Downloads after the transfer. On Android, use the Downloads app. On desktop, use your normal Downloads folder.

Move keepers into a library folder. Prepared worker files expire on a short timer; your disk copy is the archive.

Rights stay with the creator. Saving a Reel does not grant ad reuse.

Vidzilla is not affiliated with Instagram. Follow platform terms when you reuse the file.

If Download file stalls, keep the same Reel URL and retry once on a stable network rather than pasting a different grid link. Wrong pastes create a second failure that looks like a site bug.

Teams archiving creator posts should store the Reel URL in a spreadsheet beside the filename. Without that mapping, a folder of opaque MP4s is useless within a week.

Free daily counts still apply. Finish the must-keep Reel first; leave experimental pastes for later so the budget goes to files you will actually keep.

Open the MP4 once before you archive it.
